Plaster Casts at the Stabian Baths

The Stabian Baths are highlighted in red on the map

The Stabian Thermal Baths are the oldest baths located in Pompeii. It is a beautiful complex and worth a lengthy visit.

Today the baths also house two plaster casts. As you enter the complex from the street, go into the men's anteroom. If you time your visit well and arrive shortly after the ruins open, you can linger in the anteroom without a crowd of tourists.

This is the scene you want to avoid in the Stabian Baths; arrive early!

Shortly after the ruins open, no one will be in the Stabian Baths
