Veterinarian Finds 2,000-year-old Mummified Catdog?

Here's a riddle: Is a catdog real?

Answer: Yes, when it comes from Egypt.

Now here's the full answer:

A cat mummy at the Albany (NY) Institute of History & Art was recently CAT-scanned (of course) by a veterinarian who wanted to study the mummy. The museum had acquired the mummy in 1958, and everyone believed that the cat mummy on display contained the remains of a cat.

But the veterinarian was surprised to learn that the wrappings contained the remains of a dog instead. The vet was so shocked that he asked other experts to verify his findings, which they did.

According to canoe.ca, members of the museum staff now refer to the mummy as "CatDog."
