The oldest intact egg (that
is, an egg mummy) ever found in China was recently put on display in Jinan,
the capital city of east China's Shandong province.
Discovered in a Western Han
Dynasty tomb (206 BC to 25 A.D.), it was part of large collection of eggs
left in the tomb as part of the burial goods for a king. Only one egg
remained intact, however.
The egg is part of an
exhibit at the Western Han Cultural Relics Exhibition.
