Meresamun's Coffin at the Ashmolean Museum

 

 

Meresamun was a musician of Amun (a similarly named mummy resides at the Oriental Institute in Chicago). An opening along the back of the cartonnage permitted her mummified remains to be inserted; the opening was then laced up.
