Egyptian Animal Mummies

The Egyptian exhibit has one example each of many types of animal mummies made in the last 500 years or so of Egyptian mummy-making. The only exception is a large reconstruction of an ibis catacomb which contains many ibis mummies (not hard to find in Egypt).

Very little information is given about each of the mummies, but here's a rundown of what the museum displays:

baboon

dog

0-200 AD

fish

crocodile

Crocodile mummy mask (300 BC to 200 AD) and small crocodile mummy (note: the mask was for a different mummy)
