Included
in the collection are a pair of hair braids that date to 600 B.C. They are
displayed on a block of peat (as shown in the photo to the left). Hair
braids, buns, and even pony tails were often left in bogs, most likely as
offerings to the gods and goddesses that early European people worshipped.

Also
exhibited are a pair of leather shoes (which look more like slippers) that
date from the Roman period.
