The
Roemer- und Pelizaeus- Museum in
Hildesheim, Germany (just south of Hannover) has one of the premier
Egyptian collections in the world. Now that the museum has finished a
major construction and renovation project, it also has more room and
better space to exhibit its vast collection. It also has the opportunity
to host many traveling exhibits.
First, the museum has many
one-of-a-kind Egyptian artifacts (and yes, mummies). These include a very
rare mask of Anubis and a large, unwrapped crocodile mummy.
Second, it also has a permanent
exhibit of Peruvian artifacts, including at least one mummy bundle from
Paracas. You can visit the Museum
website here.
