Discovering
the Inca
Ice Maiden by Johan Reinhard,
the anthropologist who discovered Juanita, the Ice Maiden.
Unfortunately, Reinhard isn't much of a writer when it comes to children
(there is no sense in this book that he is addressing children as
readers), and the book is disappointing in this way. On the other hand,
the book if full of photographs (from the National Geographic Society;
this is a National Geographic book) which clearly show in full
color all of the stages in Juanita's discovery and scientific analysis.
It would be a useful accompaniment to any other book on the Ice Maiden
because it shows so much information.
