Tutankhamun by T.G.H. James is the highest quality book ever published about the boy king. The writing and the photographs (taken specifically for this book and exquisitely done) combine to make a true work of art. 

The book is huge: 320 over-sized 10x14-inch pages, 400 photos and illustrations to count (over 800). Perfect for teachers, the book really accomplishes three missions. First, it discusses Tut's life and times. Second, it provides the details of Carter's discovery of the Boy King's tomb. Finally, the book presents many of the treasures found in the tomb in photos taken specifically for this book. The tones of gold will mesmerize even the most reluctant student. Who knows? A budding Egyptologist may bloom! 

I highly recommend the book, which would also be appropriate as a photo and fact resource for students in grades 5 and up. A good companion book is Reeves' The Complete Tutankhamun.
