Wrapped for Eternity: The
Story of the Egyptian Mummy by Mildred Mastin
Pace. First published in 1974, this book has been rescued from obscurity by a
shrewd publisher--it's just too good to be out of print any longer. This is an in-depth
look at Egyptian mummies--for kids, though most adults would appreciate its text-rich
format--and it dwells on what kids want to know: all about pyramid builders,
graverobbers,
King Tut, and well-detailed (and sometimes gross and gory) mummy stories. Considering that
the book is 25 years old, Pace's storytelling abilities are so good that it isn't dated
one bit. Kids will have a hard time putting this book down (I know I did.).
