particular mummy, that of Rameses II. She covers his mummification as
well as his burial, his desecration by graverobbers, and his eventual
rediscovery and scientific analysis. She also explains the Egyptians'
beliefs about death and the afterlife and includes some information on
animal mummies as well, plus a great introduction to mummies in ancient
Egypt. Ample pastel-hued illustrations round out this introduction to
mummification for beginning readers. The book lacks only a bibliography
and a glossary.
