Wilcox is a general book about mummies,
emphasizing photographs (most in color). Chapters include
Egyptian mummies, Incan mummies, cave
mummies, frozen mummies, Asian mummies, bog mummies--and many animal
mummies interspersed throughout. The book is well-designed, and the
photos are good (some were taken
especially for this book, so there are some unusual ones). The book
makes an ideal introduction to mummies for readers in the lower middle
grades--it's easy to follow, contains lots of basic information, and is
visually appealing!
