Amazing Mummies by Iqbal Hussain
is Golden Books' Sunday comics-type approach to mummies for older
readers. A large-size book (roughly 9x12 inches), it mixes flashy
splotches of color, wild type, and engrossing photos to accompany the
fact-filled text which has been broken into small easy-to-digest
paragraphs. For example, the first 2-page spread entitled Amazing
Mummies features an introductory paragraph, 3 question-and-answer
paragraphs, a sidebar, a joke in the right-hand margin, a
believe-it-or-not box, one large photo and three drawings. Whew! Other
pages contain that much and more which makes it perfect for older kids
looking for mummy facts in bite-sized morsels. Index, but no
