Front Cover Pyramids: 50 Hands-on Activities to Experience Ancient Egypt by Avery Hart and Paul Mantell contains stories, activities, and games for children studying ancient Egypt. The book focuses at first on what it would have been like to be a child in ancient Egypt, a clever way to capture the reader's attention. Craft activities and games are interspersed throughout the book as accompaniments. In fact, the book is so crammed full of ideas (and snappy writing) that even the most reluctant reader (or craft-maker) will surely find something of interest to do. Even better, the book does not contain photographs of perfectly-made finished projects...only cartoons which help the craft-challenged not feel incompetent. I highly recommend the lively approach this book takes.
