The
Bog People by P. V. Glob
is the original book about bog mummies. It describes the discovery of
many bodies, including Grauballe Man and Windeby Girl, and many of the
objects, including the Gundestrup Cauldron.
Long out of print, it is
back in a new edition with an introduction by Elizabeth Wayland Barber
(author of The
Mummies of Ürümchi) and her husband Paul. The book contains 76
black-and-white photographs, all of them quite haunting. If you want to
know what the original discoveries were like, you won't want to miss
this book.
